    • "I think it would have been a good idea to wait and buy the new model a year or two after they managed to work out the kinks. The RAV4 started burning oil early on and I've had more than my share of powertrain problems (suspension, tie rods, steering components). The transmission seems to respond in strange ways at different moments (climbing a hill or on cruise control) and we feel that the vehicle has been a little erractic with the throttle response. All that being said, we realize that we may have just been unlucky and hope to keep the RAV4 for many more years as we barely have to use it for long hauls etc... I hope to keep it for a solid 15 years.Regards,J"
