Visually inspect the spark plug cables for burns, cuts, or breaks in the insulation. Check the spark plug boots and the nipples on the distributor cap and coil. Check for moisture inside the distributor cap as well.

Normaly the spark plug wires have a life span of about 100,000 miles, some less than that some more. The thing to do is replace them and this will solve your problem unless it is a vehicle that still contains a distributor cap and it has micro cracks in it. If in doubt repalce cap, rotor, and wires but; wires first if on a budget as this is most likely the culprit!
