Question: Rough Upshifting in Heavy Traffic
Hello! Just got this vehicle yesterday, and had no problems while driving it the 200 miles back home on an open highway. I also had no problems this morning on my 20-minute work commute.
This afternoon I was in stop-and-go traffic, and the van was upshifting a little rough from gear-to-gear. There was no delay or early shifting, no grinding or bad noises; it just shifted a little hard, all gears.
When I got home, I checked the transmission fluid and it was full and clear. Vehicle history report says that the van has always seen regular maintenance, transmission included. There have been no major repairs made, ever.
I plan on getting it looked at soon, before it becomes a problem, but I would love to hear some speculation. I'm terrified of transmission issues and I'm hoping this won't require a four-figure repair. Thanks for your time!
