Question: Is there a way to manually lower a power window?

Front passenger window is stuck fully up. There is power going to the motor (tested with a light at the plug). Motor makes no noise. I guess I need to replace the motor/regulator, but everything I've read indicates I'll have to drill out rivets to release the regulator from the glass. With the window all the way up, there is no easy access to those rivets. If I unbolt everything (motor/regulator), will the window drop down far enough to get to the rivets? Any suggestions?
Thanks.
